Kesederhanaan yang Diajarkan Antropologi

Seperti kebiasaan yang banyak dilakukan para calon mahasiswa, antropologi menjadi pilihan kedua. Setidaknya itulah yang saya lakukan dulu, dan sepertinya teman-teman seangkatan saya pun banyak yang melakukan hal yang sama. Antropologi selalu menjadi yang kedua, dan yang kedua biasanya tidak terlalu dicintai. Manifestasinya, dalam bentuk masuk kuliah yang malas-malasan. Atau titip absen saja lah. Toh, tahun depan saya akan meninggalkan antropologi. Begitu yang ada di pikiran saya saat itu (atau jangan-jangan di pikiran banyak kawan seangkatan hehe).

Namun, seperti yang saya tulis dalam kata pembuka skripsi saya, ternyata tahun demi tahun ide untuk meninggalkan antropologi terkikis. Bukan sekadar soal realita bahwa para mahasiswa antropologi itu aneh bin ajaib (no offense loh hehe), tapi antropologi adalah sains dengan sentuhan kemanusiaan. Ketika banyak sains membicarakan gambaran besar, antropologi lah yang membicarakan gambaran kecil. Antropologi menuliskan segala hal yang terlupakan. Keseharian yang tidak penting –setidaknya begitulah anggapan banyak orang.
